How do I get around?
On foot or by Uber
Is it safe to hail a yellow taxi?
Yes, but, you’d need to have cash on you and speak Spanish
What is the tipping culture?
In restaurants, leave 10%, and private drivers/tour operators will welcome tips of 10%-20%
Can you drink the tap water?
Yes, you’re in the mountains!
What adaptor should I pack?
The same adaptor you’d bring to the USA
Is Bogotá warm?
Not always! Pack light jumpers, shawls, and a jacket. Jeans/trousers are recommended over dresses/shorts for touring around the city
Is it likely to rain?
Maybe, it will be the end of the rainy season. Pack an umbrella and/or a rain jacket
Is street food safe to eat?
Yes

January 15th, 2026.
Are children invited?
We’d ask that you refrain from bringing young children but there will be a crèche for babies at the Hacienda.
How do I arrange a private car service?
We suggest you contact Carlos Sosa via WhatsApp at +57 311 487 2765. He’ll be happy to assist with any transportation needs—whether it’s arranging a dedicated driver during your stay in Bogotá or coordinating travel to other parts of Colombia before or after the wedding.

A note on safety
Please stick to the areas we recommend you visit (see our Must Sees and Dos).
Avoid wearing flashy jewellery and using your phones on the street as there are pickpockets.
We would not recommend walking home at night; please take an Uber.
